Firemaking Workshop

Fire Making Workshop

We had an amazing firemaking workshop a week ago. The weather was beautiful, so we sat outside around the fire pit, and spent the day working on this ancient skill, full of magic and awe-inspiring power. When I first learned the bowdrill, I stepped into the world of primitive skills. It was the portal that opened to a path that has been full of adventures. In the class, we explored flint and steel, bowdrill and handdrill. We had a great group, adults, children, parents, siblings, grandfather and grandson, friends and families. It created a deeper sense of connection while working on the art of fire. The level of dedication was incredible, and led to a greater degree of success than I have seen in the past. Thanks to everyone who participated, as well as Laughing Coyote instructors who helped out! Enjoy the photos below.
